The physical copy of Aphex Twin's album 'Caustic Window' which sold at auction for over £27,000 was bought by Markus 'Notch' Persson, the inventor of computer game, Minecraft.

A test pressing of the album sold on eBay made £27,198 with money raised from the sale to be split evenly between the people who paid into Kickstarter, Aphex Twin and a currently unnamed charity.

A user of the We Are The Music Makers forum that has been integral to the Kickstarter campaign behind the album confirmed Persson's purchase in a message board post that reads: "He's a really cool guy, and didn’t even consider the charity aspect when buying it (but was really happy to hear that half is going to charity) – he's been an Aphex fan since he was young. My daughter was blown away that the guy who made the game she endlessly plays bought a record off her dad."

Swedish programmer Persson created Minecraft in 2009 has more than 33 million users worldwide. The video game puts players in a randomly-generated world where they can create their own structures and contraptions out of textured cubes.

On June 23 he tweeted about having recently invested "a lot" in an album from the '90s.
