ARAB STRAP'S CHEMIKAL REACTION
The stroppy buggers are back - with an album that's both "sparse" and "morose"...
The seven-date tour coincides with the release of Arab Strap's fourth album proper, 'The Red Thread', on February 26 via Chemikal Underground. It will be released in the US through Matador, the following day. The album has been descibed as venturing "deeper into territory where ambient-electronic production and sparse, morose pop overlap".
The tour, the group's first dates this year, will call at: Liverpool University (February 22) Sheffield University (23) Oxford Zodiac (24) Coventry Coliseum (25) London Scala (26) Manchester Planet K (27) Glasgow Arches (28)
Tickets for the shows are priced #12.50, and are on sale now. The tour will be preceded by a new single, 'Love Detective', on January 29, also through Chemikal Underground.
As previously revealed on NME.COM, Arab Strap will appear as special guests of The Delgados as part of the Celtic Connections folk music festival in Glasgow, at the city's Fruitmarket on January 20.
