Arcade Fire release extra tickets for London shows

The band tell NME.COM why they're doing it

Arcade Fire will release very limited extra tickets for this week’s four-night run at Brixton Academy in London.

There will be 50 tickets per night for the long sold-out gigs on March 14, 15, 16 and 17, sold on a strictly first come first served basis, and limited to one ticket per person. Tickets will be priced at £18.50 (payable in cash only).

The tickets will be available from the venue box office at 7pm on show night only. Once the ticket has been purchased customers will be asked to enter the venue at that point, with no re-admissions allowed, in an effort to avoid resale of tickets.

Speaking about the band’s policy, bandmember Jeremy Gara told NME.COM: "We've talked about it and met some people who say 'Why can't you fix this?'. It's the hope that stuff like this can help curb it. there's little things we can do and holding some of the tickets back will help a little bit.

"We don't a huge point of being really vocal about it but every time somebody asks we're like 'Don't buy it on eBay!'"

The tour continues tonight (March 12) with a second sold-out gig at Glasgow Barrowland.
