Arcade Fire announced that they would not be playing New York City for the foreseeable future on Sunday (October 7).
The band were playing Randall’s Island with LCD Soundsystem when frontman Win Butler made the shock announcement.
According to Stereogum, he told the crowd: “I know we come to New York a lot, but this is going to be the last time for a few years. So let’s have a good time tonight.”
According to sources, audience members booed.
Meanwhile the band revealed the video for ’Neon Bible’ through a cryptic message on Beonlineb.com.
