Arcade Fire play trio of classic covers at London show

The band pay tribute to British music at first Ally Pally date

Arcade Fire covered songs by The Smiths, New Order and The Clash as they played the first of three sold-out dates at London's Alexandra Palace last night (November 17).

The Canadian band tackled The Smiths 'Still Ill' early on, before incorporating chunks of New Order's 'The Age Of Consent' and The Clash's 'I'm So Bored With The USA' later in the set.

The rest of the performance was lifted from the group's two albums to date, 'Funeral' and 'Neon Bible', and were performed in front of a set bathed in neon and featuring huge video screens.

Arcade Fire play the same venue tonight (November 18) and tomorrow (19). The shows are sold out, but a limited amount of tickets are available on the door on a first-come, first-served basis.
