Arcade Fire, Dave Sitek, Yeasayer for new AIDS charity compilation

Plus Beirut, Cat Power and Iron & Wine contribute

Arcade Fire, Dave Sitek, Yeasayer, Cat Power and Iron & Wine are among the artists who have contributed to a new compilation album released in conjunction with the Red Hot charity.

The album, 'Dark Was The Night', will be released on February 16, with profits going to Red Hot – which raises money and awareness to combat AIDS worldwide.

The album will feature a rare Arcade Fire song, 'When Lenin Was Little', while TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek has covered The Troggs' 'A Girl Like You' for the album.

Also included is a collaboration between Conor Oberst and Gillian Welch, on the song 'Lua'.

The album will be a double album, with one side showcasing folk-led music with the other showcasing rock-led songs.
