Arcade Fire score first UK Number One album with 'The Suburbs'

Arcade Fire have bagged the first UK Number One of their career today (August 8), with new album 'The Suburbs' going straight to the top of the Albums Chart.

The Canadian band saw off competition from Eminem's 'Recovery' to claim the top slot.

In the Singles Chart, Ne-Yo is new in at Number One with 'Beautiful Monster'. Last week's Number One single 'All Time Low' by new boy band The Wanted is at to Number Five.

The UK Top 10 albums are:

1. Arcade Fire - 'The Suburbs'
2. Eminem - 'Recovery'
3. Plan B - 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks'
4. Eliza Doolittle - 'Eliza Doolittle'
5. Tom Jones - 'Praise & Blame'
6. Lady Gaga - 'The Fame'
7. Michael Bublé - 'Crazy Love'
8. Paolo Nutini - 'Sunny Side Up'
9. Mumford & Sons - 'Sigh No More'
10. Jason Derulo - 'Jason Derulo'


The UK Top 10 singles are:

1. Ne-Yo - 'Beautiful Monster'
2. Flo Rida Club - 'Can't Handle Me'
3. Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP - 'We No Speak Americano'
4. Eminem - 'Love The Way You Lie'
5. The Wanted - 'All Time Low'
6. Travie McCoy - 'Billionaire'
7. B.o.B - 'Airplanes'
8. Eliza Doolittle - 'Pack Up'
9. Swedish House Mafia - 'One'
10. Katy Perry - 'California Gurls'
