Arcade Fire’s Will Butler is to record the score for a new short film, directed by Jeff Newburg, who has previously starred in TV shows Days Of Our Lives and Weeds.

The film, Home Burial, is based on the poem of the same name by Robert Frost and follows an argument between a husband and wife – scroll down now to watch the trailer. Newburg is currently attempting to raise $10,000 to fund the project and cover fees, insurance and props on Indiegogo.

Writing about his involvement with the film, Butler said: "The music for the short film will hopefully evoke Robert Frost – formal but conversational; embedded in the early 20th century but still relevant. Darker than you might expect. Bartok meets John Carpenter."

Arcade Fire are currently working on their fourth studio album, including collaborations with LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy.
