Arcade Fire have continued their stunt of covering an artist from each town they stop at on their current world tour, this time taking on Pixies' 'Alec Eiffel'.

The band paid tribute to Pixies, who come from Boston, at their gig in neighbouring Mansfield, Massachusetts on Monday (August 18) – watch footage of it below.

As Consequence Of Sound reports, Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler also gave a shout-out to the Boston-based charity Partners In Health, which the band has been a longtime supporter of. "It’s the coolest thing that came out of Boston, aside from the Pixies," he said.

Arcade Fire's string of recent covers include a rendition of of Fugazi's 'Waiting Room' during their show in Washington DC over the weekend, Neil Young's 'Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown' in Winnipeg (August 14) and Feist's 'I Feel It All' in Calgary, Alberta.

They have also previously played Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' in Seattle, as well as tracks from The Smiths, Echo And The Bunnymen and INXS.
