Arctic Monkeys plan secret hometown show

It's a warm-up for the ShockWaves NME Awards Tour

Arctic Monkeys are to warm-up for their appearance on the ShockWaves NME Awards Tour with a small hometown gig.

The band will join Maximo Park, We Are Scientists and Mystery Jets on the jaunt, which travels across the country throughout late January and early February.

To warm-up, Arctic Monkeys will play a pre-tour gig at the 900 capacity Sheffield Leadmill on January 22.

Tickets for the show have already sold out after details were leaked on the band's official website.

The ShockWaves NME Awards Tour dates, all of which are sold out, are:

Arctic Monkeys release their debut album ’Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ a week earlier than planned on January 23.
