A brand new Arctic Monkeys song has appeared online.

The group are currently on a tour of North America in support of their debut album ’Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’.

During the show in San Francisco at the Great American Music Hall bassist Andy Nicholson’s instrument failed, leaving singer Alex Turner to entertain the crowd. Playing alone, he premiered ’Despair In The Departure Lounge’.

A video of the song has appeared on the unofficial band website www.mardy-bum.com.

The group are planning to release an EP of brand new material in April.
