Arctic Monkeys tour hit Scotland last night – and Scotland hit back.

The band played Glasgow’s Carling Academy, the second night of their headlining jaunt around the UK. An over-excited fan threw a sock onstage, hitting frontman Alex Turner just as he started ‘When The Sun Goes Down’.

Then in a bizarre turn of events he abandoned the track, leading the band into 'Fake Tales Of San Francisco' only to pick up exactly where they left off two songs later.

Earlier on, Turner had greeted the crowd saying, "So we meet again, on a Friday night once more. Always the same. I'm not sure Glasgow exists outside of Fridays and Saturdays."

And he said he would see the city again this summer. "It might be a while (until we're back), it could be, unless you're going to T In The Park. We'll be there, so we'll see you there. We'll meet you all there."

The set-list was almost identical to the opening show the previous night in Nottingham, though album track ‘Red Light Indicates Doors Are Secured’ was added.
