Arctic Monkeys and U2 nominated for Grammys

Coldplay, Keane and The Raconteurs also in the running

Arctic Monkeys have been nominated for a Grammy award in the Best Alternative Music Album category for ’Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’.

U2 have also been nominated been nominated for two Grammys, both for their collaborations.

For their duet with Mary J Blige’One’- they are up for Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. For their collaboration with Green Day ’The Saints Are Coming’ they are up for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group with Vocal.

The Raconteurs are up for two gongs Best Rock Album for ’Broken Boy Soldiers’ and Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group for ’Steady, As She Goes’.

Coldplay are up for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group for ’Talk’.

Keane are up for Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group for ’Is It Any Wonder?’.

Snow Patrol are nominated for Best Rock Song with ’Chasing Cars’. The Killers are also nominated in the same category for ’When You Were Young’.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs are nominated in the Best Alternative Music Album for 'Show Your Bones', while Thom Yorke is also nominated in that category for ’The Eraser’.

Gnarls Barkley are up for four nominations, including Album Of The Year for ’St Elsewhere’, and Record Of The Year for ’Crazy’.

The winners will be announced at the 49th Grammy ceremony, which takes place on December 13 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
