Organisers of the In The City music conference have announced they are branching out into the US, with the first one taking place over two days in June in New York.

The Manchester-based convention is famous for helping to launch the careers of Oasis, Radiohead, Coldplay, Muse and Arctic Monkeys, and the two main New York live events will take place at the 2,100 capacity Nokia Theatre in Times Square.

Each night will feature a major British artist, a newly signed British band promoting their debut album and an unsigned band from the recent In The City Unsigned event in Manchester.

There will also be a number of showcases happening around the city, during which US bands will showcase their talents.

In The City of New York takes place on June 13 and 14.
