Arctic Monkeys to play gig at Irish castle

The band announce another big summer date

Arctic Monkeys
Double BRIT Award winners Arctic Monkeys have announced details of a huge Irish gig this summer.

The Sheffield four-piece will play the 15,000 capacity Malahide Castle in north county Dublin on June 16.

Having appeared at last year’s Oxegen Festival, the outdoor show will be the band’s first Irish headliner since playing Dublin Whelan’s in August 2005 prior to the release of their debut single ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’.

Tickets go on sale next Thursday (February 22) at 9am.

As previously announced on NME.COM, the band release their second album ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’ on April 23. The album will be preceded by new single 'Brianstorm' on April 16.

The group had previously announced two huge UK gigs on July 28 & 29 at Lancashire County Cricket Club in Manchester. Both dates are sold out.

The band are also confirmed to headline this year’s Glastonbury Festival, and it’s thought they will close proceedings on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday June 23.
