Arctic Monkeys kicked off the first official date of their UK tour last night (April 9) in Southampton’s Guildhall.

As well as playing live favourites from their 2006 debut album 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not', the band showcased several tracks from their forthcoming new album ’Favourite Worst Nightmare’, which is released on April 23.

As previously reported, these scheduled dates follows a secret tour of England mounted by Arctic Monkeys in February, along with a series of European shows.

The band played:

‘If You Found This It’s Probably Too Late’
‘Brianstorm’
‘Still Take You Home’
‘Dancing Shoes’
‘From The Ritz To The Rubble’
‘Teddy Picker’
‘When the Sun Goes Down’
‘Do Me A Favour’
‘Fluorescent Adolescent’
‘Mardy Bum’
‘Fake Tales Of San Francisco’
‘The View From The Afternoon’
‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor’
‘Leave Before The Lights Come On’
‘A Certain Romance’

The band continue the sold-out tour tonight (April 10) at Exeter’s University Great Hall and then they will play:

London Astoria (12, 13)
Liverpool Carling Academy (14)
Newcastle Carling Academy (16)
Dundee Caird Hall (17)
Glasgow Barrowlands (18)
