Arctic Monkeys under threat
Their chart record is set to be smashed
Arctic Monkeys’ album chart record for having the fastest-selling British debut of all time looks set to be smashed by 2006 'X Factor' winner Leona Lewis.
In January 2006 the band’s debut album, ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ sold 363,735 in its first week of release.
Lewis’ debut, ‘Spirit’, sold 130,000 copies on its release on Monday (November 12), meaning it is on course to set a new record.
Lewis is also currently Number One in the UK singles chart with ‘Bleeding Love’.
