Arctic Monkeys bring 'Suck It And See' to the Hollywood Bowl
TV On The Radio, Warpaint, Smith Westerns also on the Los Angeles bill
Arctic Monkeys, TV On The Radio, Warpaint, Panda Bear and Smith Westerns made up a star-studded bill last night (September 25) at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Opened up by Chicago’s Smith Westerns, before performances from Warpaint and Panda Bear (Animal Collective’s Noah Lennox), Arctic Monkeys arrived onto the iconic outdoor stage to the strains of Hot Chocolate’s ‘You Sexy Thing’.
Sporting his trademark leather jacket and new teddy boy quiff, frontman Alex Turner played up to his classic rock’n’roll look by saying ‘Thank you very much’ in the style of Elvis after 'Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair'. “Are you in a good mood tonight, Bowl? I am,” started the frontman, later introducing drummer Matt Helders to the crowd and pointing out his stars and stripes trousers.
The band played a number of other songs from their new album 'Suck It And See', including 'Brick By Brick', 'The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala' and 'She's Thunderstorms'. They finished their set with 'When The Sun Goes Down', after which Turner blew kisses to the cheering audience.
The band's UK arena tour kicks off at Nottingham's Capital FM Arena on October 28 and ends at Liverpool's Echo Arena on November 9.
TV On The Radio closed the five-band bill, with a frenetic set that included 'Will Do' off their 2011 album 'Nine Types of Light' and classic single 'Wolf Like Me', which was rapturously received by the crowd.
Arctic Monkeys played:
'This House Is A Circus'
'Still Take You Home'
'Don’t Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair'

'The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala’
'The View From The Afternoon'
'I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor'
