Enter Shikari question Arctic Monkeys' festival headliner credentials Arctic Monkeys Tickets
Drummer Rob Ralfe singles out Sheffield band as worst festival headliner he has ever seen
The drummer spoke to Gigwise at Reading Festival, where the band debuted their dance-orientated Shikari Soundsystem project. Asked who he thinks the worst band he has ever seen top the bill at a festival, the drummer said: "Arctic Monkeys. I'm not a big fan of them anyway so maybe I'm quite biased."
Elsewhere in the interview the band also discussed the possibility of headlining the event themselves. "Obviously it's not something that we're expecting or particularly striving for but who knows?" said frontman Rou Reynolds, with Rolfe adding: "We wouldn't turn it down."
When asked what it takes to be a festival headliner, Ralfe also said: "You need good production - some times I feel a bit cheated when a headline band don't have any production. You've got to put on a good show."
Earlier this year Rou Reynolds criticised 30 Seconds To Mars for charging their fans to meet the band after concerts. Posting a link to a blog which explains how Jared Leto and his band charge fans up to £575 to spend time with them before and after they have played live on their forthcoming US tour, Reynolds wrote that the practice is "exploiting" fans and called it "madness."
