Arctic Monkeys fought off competition from Avicii and Elton John to secure a second week at the top of the Official UK Album Chart.

The 'Arabella' group made chart history last week when they became the first independent band to five Number One studio albums in a row. They'll be celebrating again tonight, as they have successfully defended the top spot, reports the Official Charts Company.

Avicii is this week's highest new entry, as his album 'True' enters the Official UK Album Chart at Number Two. Elton John is at Number Three with his 31st studio album, 'The Diving Board'. Manic Street Preachers are at Number Four with 'Rewind The Film' – the Welsh band's 11th Top 10 album – and London Grammar's 'If You Wait' completes the Top Five.

Elsewhere, Deaf Havana are new in at Number Nine with 'Old Souls', while Placebo score their eighth Top 40 album with their new record 'Loud Like Love' at Number 13. Elvis Costello's collaboration with The Roots, 'Wise Up Ghost', is at Number 28.

Meanwhile, in the Official UK Singles Chart, Jason Derulo has knocked Katy Perry's 'Roar' off the top spot with his new single 'Talk Dirty'. Jessie J's 'It's My Party' is at Number Three, 'Counting Stars' by One Republic is up down two spots to Number Four and Avicii's 'You Make Me' is at Number Five.

Despite being knocked down to Number Two, Katy Perry will be pleased to know that 'Dark Horse', a track which features on her new album 'Prism', has entered the chart at Number 27. Linkin Park and Steve Aoki enter at Number 34 with 'A Light That Never Comes', and electro-pop trio Chvrches score their highest charting single to date with 'The Mother We Share' at Number 38.
