Aretha Franklin has announced that she has re-recorded the song she performed at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony last month so that her fans can have the "best possible version" of the song.

Franklin performed 'My Country, 'Tis Of Thee' at the Washington DC ceremony on January 20, and said in a statement that she wasn't able to give her "very best" in the cold weather, reports the Associated Press.

She has therefore decided to record a "preferred version" of the song, which will be released this week via US iTunes, Rhapsody and other music downloading services.
