I SING A LITTLE ARIA

Soul legend ARETHA FRANKLIN has announced her intention to record an album of classical opera.

Speaking to Reuters news agency, Franklin, more famous for her classic soul songs such as 'Respect', said she hopes to start work on the project soon.

She commented: "I'm planning to do a solo aria album. I wanted to start it earlier, but it got delayed because I got so busy... I hope to record 'Nessun Dorma'. I just love Puccini."

It is anticipated the record will be recorded after she completes work on a more conventional studio album for her label, Arista Records.
