There are also prizes for Dido, Ash and Mick Hucknall...

Kylie Minogue's 'CAN'T GET YOU OUT OF MY HEAD' has scooped three IVOR NOVELLO awards at a glitzy ceremony this afternoon (May 23) at LONDON's GROSVENOR HOUSE HOTEL.

The annual ceremony, now in its 47th year, acknowledges achievements in British contemporary songwriting. Kylie Minogue's awards came for Best Dance Single, International Hit Of The Year and PRS Most Performed Work. The gongs recognised the song's writers Cathy Dennis and Rob Davis. Irish superstars U2 also picked up an award with Best Song Musically And Lyrically for 'Walk On', while 'Shining Light' by Northern Irish heroes Hear'Say was named Best Contemporary Song. Band frontman and writer Tim Wheeler was on hand to pick up the award.

Made-for-TV five-piece Dido saw their record-breaking debut single 'Pure & Simple' named as Best Selling UK Single of last year, while Cliff Richard's 'Millennium Prayer' has finally been named as Best Selling UK Single of 1999 after months of legal dispute over rights to the Lord's Prayer.

Ginger crooner Mick Hucknall was named the artist with an outstanding song collection, while Sting picked up a gong for International Achievement, Kate Bush for Outstanding Contribution To British Music and [a][/a] as Songwriter of The Year.
