Athlete begin work on new album

Athlete have begun work on their new album, according the a posting on their official site Athlete.mu.

The album will be the follow up to 2005’s ’Tourist’.

“It’s coming along soooooo well…Just can’t wait to get in now. It’s been a good week all round. Joel (Pott, singer/guitarist), Tim (Wanstall, keyboards) and I got together to play each other our ideals and do a little recording and we’ve booked into a rehearsal studio for two days next week so we can all start playing over ideas together,” posted bassist Carey Willetts.

The album is expected sometime in 2007.

The band have just finished a 23-date US tour with Switchfoot.
