CLAW INSPIRING!

And Coldplay celebrate a second week on top of the Album chart...

CLAW INSPIRING!

ATOMIC KITTEN have held off the challenge of ex-ALL SAINTS stars APPLETON’s debut single to clinch top slot in the UK singles chart for the second successive week with ’THE TIDE IS HIGH’ tonight (September 8).

Nicole and Natalie Appleton’s debut single ’Fantasy’ was the highest new entry at Two. There were also Top Ten entries for N-Trance with ’Forever’ at Six and Paul Weller at Seven with ’It’s Written In The Stars’.

Elsewhere, there are new entries for NME faves Underworld at 12 with ’Two Months Off’ and The White Stripes at 25 with ’Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground’. Weezer’s ’Keep Fishin’ goes in at 29, while Incubus’ ’Are You In’ goes in at 34.

In the Album chart, all-conquering Coldplay, this week’s NME cover stars, hold on to Number One for the second successive week with second LP ’A Rush Of Blood To The Head’. In a week with little movement on the chart, The Music’s eponymous debut enters at Four, while greatest hits compilations from 80s star and old indie favourites Rick Astley and Catatonia enter at 16 and 24 respectively.
