Deadmau5 will replace Swedish producer at Miami event
As reported yesterday (March 28), the Swedish DJ and producer was taken ill in Miami earlier in the week. It has since been confirmed to Billboardthat he has been diagnosed with a blocked gall bladder and will undergo surgery, meaning he can no longer headline the US dance music event. Deadmau5 has been named as his replacement.
"[Avicii] has been diagnosed as having a blocked gall bladder and is currently being evaluated for a potential surgery to remove his gall bladder," reads a statement issued by Avicii's team. "He has had to cancel all his commitments for the week, including a highly anticipated headline performance at the ULTRA Music Festival."
Avicii also tweeted about his illness, assuring fans that he is fine and will return to action shortly.
