Azealia Banks has cancelled almost all of her summer festival shows due to recording commitments.

The rapper, who is currently working on her debut album 'Broke With Expensive Taste', will still play Reading And Leeds Festivals and BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend, but has pulled out of all her other appearances.

Speaking to NME earlier today (April 27), the rapper's management said of the cancellation: "Azealia Banks will be performing at the Radio 1 Hackney Weekender and Reading & Leeds Festivals this summer, but has unfortunately had to cancel her remaining UK festival appearances due to recording commitments. Her October UK headline tour will still go ahead as scheduled".

The rapper has cancelled shows at Lovebox festival, Rockness, Rough Beats festival, Parklife, Wakestock and at a series of European festivals, including Rock Am Ring and Rock Werchter.

Banks has recently signed with Lady Gaga's manager Troy Carter and has delayed the release of her '1991' EP after securing a bigger recording budget, promising she would be putting out "no more ghetto mixes".

Her debut album is scheduled for release in September on Interscope. She signed to Universal Music in January after parting ways with British indie label XL Recordings, which is home to Adele, after citing conflicting creative visions.
