Babyshambles cancel Norwich gig

Babyshambles gig at the University Of East Anglia in Norwich tonight (October 2) has been postponed.

As previously reported, it is believed that Pete Doherty was arrested in Shrewsbury last night following his band’s gig in the town.

Announcing the cancellation of tonight’s show Babyshambles' spokesperson issued the following statement to NME.COM: “Tonight’s gig In Norwich has been postponed but it will be rearranged as soon as possible, this is due to one of Babyshambles’ touring party being held overnight in police custody.”

As previously reported, West Mercia Police issued the following statement after the incident over night when a man was arrested for possession of a class A drug:

"In the early hours of this morning officers stopped a mini bus in Shrewsbury town centre and detained a number of people for the purposes of a drugs search. Officers also attended one premises in Shrewsbury and detained a number of other individuals."
