Pete Doherty’s prison diaries have been printed by a national newspaper.
The Guardian has printed extracts from the diary of the Babyshambles frontman penned while he was on remand in prison.
Doherty writes that he felt “like a freak show” in prison, as other inmates screamed his name “like apes” at his cell door.
The singer mused: “Even life without drugs has gotta be better than this malarkey” and concluded that drugs were “eating away at your money, your love and your life.”
The Guardian has stated it did not pay Doherty for the publication and instead made a donation to the Prison Reform Trust.
As previously reported, Babyshambles made a surprise live appearance last night {February 10) at Koko.
