Babyshambles singer held on suspicion of stealing car
Pete Doherty has been arrested on suspicion of stealing a car and possession of class A drugs.
The Babyshambles singer was held in police custody after being detained in Birmingham on Monday night (February 27).
Police told BBC Radio Five Live that three men were arrested on suspicion of theft of a car in London.
Doherty along with two unnamed men from Dundee were also arrested for allegedly possessing class A drugs.
All three have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
With Dirty Pretty Things playing at the Birmingham Academy on the same night of the arrests, those close to Babyshambles have speculated that Doherty was probably in town to check out his old Libertine colleague Carl Barat's new group.
As previously reported, Doherty is due in court next week (March 8) to review the 12-month community order he recieved after pleading guilty to a series of drugs offences earlier in the year.
