Pete Doherty to perform Mary Poppins song
Babyshambles man to do 'Chim Chiminey'

Babyshambles Pete Doherty is set to perform ’Chim Chiminey’ from the musical ’Mary Poppins’.
The one-off will be part of a tribute to the Disney Songbook, which will take place at London's South Bank Centre in June.
Along with Doherty, the event will see Disney covers from the likes of The Pogues singer Shane MacGowan, Nick Cave, Bryan Ferry, Baaba Maal, Ralph Steadman, Beth Orton and Jarvis Cocker.
Beth Orton is set to sing a song from ’Dumbo’, while Cocker will run through ’I Wanna Be Like You’ from ’The Jungle Book’.
The event will be organised by arranged by The Beach Boys collaborator Van Dyke Parks, and is set to be produced by Hal Willner, producer of long running US comedy show ’Saturday Night Live’.
The event, ’Forest Of No Return - Hal Willner presents the Vintage Disney Songbook’ takes place on June 17, reports The Times.
