Babyshambles: 'Is it Led Zep without John Bonham?'
Drew McConnell is a big fan though
Babyshambles’ bassist Drew McConnell has questioned whether the proposed Led Zeppelin reunion will really count without drummer John Bonham.
The rock veterans are rumoured to be about to reform with the original drummer – who died in 1980 – son’s Jason set to take over the sticks.
Speaking to NME.COM, the Babyshambles man admitted this was a drawback for him.
“If they want to do it then why not? I’m a bit worried about them doing it without Bonham,” he said. “But I’m a big fan - particularly 'Houses Of The Holy' (1973 album). A lot of their records border on that supergroup pomposity, but I love this one as it's (recorded) live and you can tell how much Moroccan squidgy they’ve been smoking and it sounds fucking great."
