Pete Doherty has admitted he cannot remember missing gigs while he was at his worst with drugs.
The Babyshambles frontman developed something of a reputation for being a no show after not turning up to gigs over a period of years while he was using drugs.
However, having now undergone rehab, Doherty has admitted he has little recollection of the shows, but he is deeply sorry.
Asked by Zane Lowe on Radio 1 whether it was difficult when he thought about the damage he had done to his reputation with the no shows, Doherty said he felt bad for the fans who had missed out.
“Well, it's difficult to think of something that you can't remember,” he explained, admitting he could not remember the no shows, “but embarrassing is the right word sometimes.”
Doherty added that he was determined to do things differently in future.
“It's quite unusual for us to be sat down talking about what it is to make a record,” he explained. “We've never done it before, we just wouldn't be here.”
The interview will be broadcast on Zane Lowe’s show in Radio 1 tonight (October 16) between 7.00 – 9.00pm (BST).
