Pete Doherty dedicates song to Amy Winehouse

Babyshambles brought their first arena tour to a close with a storming set in Glasgow last night (December 1).

Pete Doherty and his band-mates played a set that was heavy on tracks from ‘Shotter’s Nation’ including new single ‘You Talk’ and ‘Unstookietitled’ - but it was ‘Kilamangiro’ from their debut album ‘Down In Albion’ which received the biggest cheer from the crowd.

However, it was the acoustic version of The Libertines classic ‘Good Old Days’which Doherty played at the end of ‘Lost Art Of Murder’ which sent the sell-out Glasgow crowd into a frenzy.

The stage was adored with retro lampshades, bunting and Scottish flags. There was also a mannequin that had been dressed up as a policeman who stalked the band from the side of the stage, this was until Pete gracefully kicked and head butted the dummy during ‘Delivery’, sending it crashing to the ground.

Before playing the crowd pleasing hit ‘Albion’, Doherty dedicated the song to Amy Winehouse, saying, “She is a really nice girl and this song is for her, keep the chin up.”

Prior to set closer 'Fuck Forever', Doherty thanked everyone who had come out to see the band during their first arena tour, he said: "This has been a lovely tour, a really lovely tour and you have all been beautiful, thank you."

Earlier in the night, Babyshambles' bassist Drew McConnell joined support act The View, playing the harmonica on their smash hit 'Same Jeans'. Support also came from Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong.
