Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty may perform at Brixton's Jamm nightclub in south London on Friday (February 8).

Doherty may join local band The Thirst as they perform at the venue to launch a new Rock Against Racism club night.

The Others will perform at the club-night, with Jerry Dammers of The Specials playing a DJ set.

A spokesperson for Doherty said that the singer/guitarist had many commitments over the next week but would make every effort to attend the event.

The spokesperson added that even though Doherty was not sure if he would be able to attend as yet, he urged fans to go to the gig and get behind the Rock Against Racism cause, which he described as "worthy and noble".

See the Jamm nightclub website for ticket information.
