Pete Doherty has released the music video for his new single, 'Last Of The English Roses', online.

The video for the song, set for release on March 9, features an inner-city football match featuring the Babyshambles man, plus a gay kiss at the end.

"I always think it's more powerful using the first person<" Doherty told NME.COM in an exclusive video interview. "It's a bit more disconnected, [but] you can take more risks, maybe.

"In 'The Last Of The English Roses', the last of the English roses is a boy. In the video there's one boy getting off with another. I'm not in that bit of the video."

The song appears on the frontman's forthcoming solo album, 'Grace/Wastelands', out March 16.

Doherty kicked off his solo UK tour last night (February 22) in London, with Blur's Graham Coxon joining him on guitar duties.
