Babyshambles played three new songs at their Shockwaves NME Awards Show in London last night (February 17).
Pete Doherty and co were in energetic mood during their 18-song set at the KOKO venue in Camden, which also saw them air fan favourites including 'French Dog Blues', 'Side Of The Road' and 'Pipedown'.
New tracks 'Fireman', 'Stranger In My Own Skin' and 'Farmer's Son' were all received well by the audience, with the latter's slow, Velvet Underground-influenced groove garnering a particularly healthy reaction from fans.
"Welcome to the NME Awards 2010," Doherty joked at the start of Babyshambles' set, referencing next Wednesday's awards ceremony at London's O2 Academy Brixton. He then introduced the band's first song of the night by saying: "And the winner of the best opening track is... 'Delivery'."
The band were joined by two French ballerinas on several songs, including 'Albion', 'There She Goes (A Little Heartache)' and set closer 'Fuck Forever'. That track saw the stage invaded by two members of support band The Cheek, while Doherty ended proceedings by throwing his microphone deep into the audience.
Earlier in the evening, The Soft Pack played a well-received set that was watched by Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek.
