Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek says 'meltdown' forced him out of band

'It's been a very dark, miserable and upsetting time,' he says

Former Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek has spoken about why he left the band last month (June 5).

Writing on his website, Ficekblog, the drummer labelled the situation as "the Babyshamble meltdown", before thanking fans for their support.

"Where do I start?" he wrote regarding his departure from Babyshambles. "It's been a very dark, miserable and upsetting time regarding the band. Something I feel is an intrinsic part of me has been lost."

Ficek's blog, which was entitled "I'm slowly growing again", went on to see him state that he cannot go into the full details regarding the split – although he promised to reveal more details in the future: "It's very difficult to go into detail about the situation – it's all a bit wobbly but I'll do my best when things settle a little. Apologies, I know you're all waiting for the gossip!"

Babyshambles have already replaced Ficek, joining forces with former Supergrass drummer Danny Goffey, who played his first UK gig with the band at T In The Park earlier this month.

Ficek is currently working with his solo project Roses Kings Castles and DJing under the name Ficekedits.
