Babyshambles' Drew McConnell and Mik Whitnall have been booked to play two UK acoustic gigs for next year, where they're set to appear without singer Pete Doherty.

The shows are scheduled to take place at Luton's Charlie Browns venue on February 3 and Scunthorpe's The Priory on March 31, with more dates expected to be added to the tour.

Doherty is due to play a handful of solo shows next year, including an acoustic set at London's Brixton Jamm on January 21. He's also scheduled to play three gigs in Italy, kicking off in Rome on February 9, before taking in shows in Brescia (10) and Bologna (11).

He also filmed his acting debut in Confessions Of A Young Contemporary, an adaption of Alfred de Musset's autobiographical novel La Confession d'un Enfant du Siècle, in France earlier this year.

Meanwhile, McConnell was hospitalised earlier this year after being involved in a road accident. He broke his ribs and injured his spine after being knocked off his bike.

Babyshambles haven't officially released any music for over 18 months. Their last release was a 7" vinyl only single of 'Side Of The Road' as part of Record Store Day in 2010. Doherty put out a solo album, 'Grace/Wastelands', in 2009.
