Babyshambles have confirmed that The Vaccines' frontman Justin Young appears on their new album 'Sequel To The Prequel'.

Young appears on the track 'Seven Shades', with the band confirming the news during a Twitter Q+A with NME last night (August 27). Tweeting as the album was streamed online, the band also revealed that one song is inspired by bands such as Pixies, Wire, The Velvet Underground and The Beatles, stating: "Musically we’ve always been proud to be informed by the old timers."

Elsewhere, the band tweeted to say that new song 'Penguins' is "kind of the 'Three Days' [from Janes Addiction's Ritual De Lo Habitual] of the album." and claimed to be one of the very few white bands able to get away with writing reggae songs.

'Sequel To The Prequel' will be released on September 2. The album was recorded at Question Du Son in Paris and mixed at The Bunker in London with producer Stephen Street. It follows 2007's 'Shotters Nation' and the band's 2005 debut, 'Down In Albion'.
