Badly Drawn Boy announces anniversary gig
Singer will play secret show this week
Badly Drawn Boy has announced details of a special gig celebrating his 10th anniversary as a recording artist.
The singer is due to play Sankeys club in Manchester on Thursday (October 11).
Writing on his Myspace blog, Damon Gough said: "September marked my 10th anniversary as a recording artist, and my birthday this week psychologically marked the end of this current album's life cycle.
"Thanks to anyone who came to see myself and the band play this year. We've had some amazing and memorable shows and they never happen without a responsive audience, so thanks again if you were there."
The singer also revealed he is planning a new release for later this year.
He wrote: "My intention is to release brand new material before the end of the year in the form of an EP or maybe mini-LP, even if it's a collection of demos, I'm eager to move on creatively."
