Steven Page is accused of cocaine possession

Barenaked Ladies' lead singer and guitarist Steven Page has been arrested and charged with cocaine possession.

The singer, 38, has been charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony that carries a maximum penalty of up to 15 years in prison.

Police Captain Bill Bleyle told the Associated Press that Page was visiting Christine Benedicto at her apartment in Fayetteville, New York when an officer saw a car parked across the street with its passenger door open.

After looking up the license plate they discovered it was registered to Benedicto's address. When they approached the house, they saw Page and another woman at a table with a white capsule that later tested positive for cocaine.

Page is currently out on bail and his representatives refuse to comment. His arrest comes at a time when Barenaked Ladies are promoting a new children's album.

So now we know the secret behind those fast "cram in as many shite lyrics as you can" verses.

scotcha shut up. If you knew anything about the band you'd know it's not Steve who sings the "fast" lyrics. And you clearly haven't made any effort to listen to any of the band's back catalogue, as they only have 2 songs out of 10 albums with the "shite fast" lyrics - get your facts right.
