Mercury Music Prize 2007 nominees: Bat For Lashes
We profile Bat For Lashes ahead of tonight's big announcement
Album: 'Fur And Gold'
Odds: 2.75/1
Bat For Lashes aka Natasha Khan, a relation of the squash-dominating Khan dynasty - has created an album of great otherness with her debut. Having divided her time as a child between Hertfordshire and Pakistan, the now Brighton-based musician, echoes the likes of Bjork while possessing the subtle menace of the likes of Radiohead. Her nursery rhyme-like songs are stripped down paeans to wizards, horses and mystical femme fatales which in recent weeks have seen Bat For Lashes become the bookies favourite for this year's prize.
NME.COM will be bringing you the result live from the London ceremony, so come back from 9pm tonight to see who has won.
