‘Batman’ actor Michael Gough dies aged 94

Gough appeared in four of the 'Batman' films

Michael Gough, the British actor best known for playing butler Alfed in the Batman films, has died aged 94.

He had been unwell over the past year and passed away surrounded by his family, reports BBC News.

Gough appeared in four of the five Batman franchise films, with the series beginning in 1989 with Tim Burton‘s original. He acted alongside Michael Keaton, George Clooney and Val Kilmer in the movies.

He appeared in over 150 films and TV shows in his career, including Burton‘s Sleepy Hollow. He also provided voices for Burton‘s Corpse Bride and Alice In Wonderland.
