‘Batman’ stage show on the way

Warner Bros to take the Caped Crusader on tour

A Batman stage show is reportedly in the works.

According to Heatvisionblog.com, Warner Bros and DC Comics are in the early stages of developing a live tour starring the Dark Knight.

They are said to be working with Nick Grace Management and Water Lane Prods – the companies behind the Walking With Dinosaurs and Mamma Mia! touring shows.

According to the report, the show won’t be a musical or a Broadway-style theatrical production, but “an elaborate arena production aimed at kids and families”.

Alan Burnett, an animation veteran whose credits include the Batman and Superman TV shows, is writing the story and script. There is no word on a possible storyline, though the production will apparently feature “numerous” villains from the Batman world.

Batman would be the first DC Comics character with his own touring stage show. Superman was the subject of a Broadway show in 1966, but it only lasted a few months despite positive reviews.
