Beach House have unveiled the first official single from their forthcoming album 'Bloom' – scroll down to the bottom of the page to listen.

The new LP, which will be the fourth studio effort from the Baltimore duo Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally, is due for release on May 15. It will be the follow-up to 2010's 'Teen Dream'.

'Lazuli' will be released on Record Store Day (April 21) with the B-side, non-album track 'Equal Mind'. Speaking to NME about the album, Legrand hinted that the 'Bloom' will be darker than its predecessor 'Teen Dream', explaining that its themes are "death [and] loss of innocence".

"As we've got older and as we've evolved, it's normal that there would be darker themes," she said. But she added that 'Bloom' won't all be doom and gloom, explaining: "There's lightness, it's not all dark," she said adding that the pair wanted the LP to make a "definitive statement" similar to The Beach Boys' 'Pet Sounds' or The Cure's 'Disintegration'.

The duo released their self-titled debut in 2006, following it with 'Devotion' in 2008 and 'Teen Dream' two years later.
