Liam Gallagher has given his seal of approval to Lady Gaga, saying she's "got balls" as a performer.

The former Oasis singer, who will play his first London gig with new band Beady Eye tonight (March 9), said he "seriously" likes her.

"She's great. Seriously, man, we like her," said Gallagher, who is more known for slagging off other musical acts than praising them.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, he added: "She's the only one out there who's got balls. I like her. She can play instruments. She can sing. She can dance. She's weird. She's shocking people. I like her. I like the Gaga, man."

Beady Eye played their debut gig in Glasgow last Thursday (3). See this week's NME for a full report and photos from the night. It's on UK newsstands or available digitally now.

The band are now set to play two London gigs at The Troxy, tonight and tomorrow.
