Liam Gallagher has said his ambitions are for Beady Eye to be bigger than The Beatles.

The singer was speaking in the new issue of NME, which is on UK newsstands now and available digitally.

"Fuck being as big as Oasis," he said. "I want to be bigger than The Beatles, man."

Gallagher also spoke about wanting to move on from his former band, saying: "I'm done singing about 'Cigarettes And Alcohol'. I've moved on."

His bandmates echoed this, saying that their feeling during their first weeks as a touring band has been that people are accepting them in their new guise.

Guitarist Andy Bell said of their first gig, in Glasgow: "You could feel people going, 'I'll buy into this'. It feel like people had moved on. We've moved on."
