Liam Gallagher and Johnny Marr have both been celebrating Manchester City’s 1-0 victory over Stoke City in the FA Cup final this afternoon (May 14).

Gallagher spoke to satellite broadcaster ESPN after the game and the Beady Eye man said he was "made up" about the result, but that he didn’t rate Manchester City’s opponents too highly.

Asked for his reaction to the result, he said: "I'm made up man, I was fucking shitting it all the way through. Stoke were Stoke, top fans, shit team."

He continued: "It was a great day out, I was very nervous, but we won it and it’s all come good again. I’ve supported them for 35 years of my life, come on City!"

Gallagher also tweeted his elation, writing on his seldom updated Twitter account Twitter.com/liamgallagher: "Where were you while we were getting high?" which are lyrics taken from Oasis's 'Champagne Supernova'.

Marr was more balanced in his assessment of the game, even congratulating fierce rivals Manchester United on winning the Barclays Premier League title earlier in the day.

He wrote on Twitter.com/johnny_marr: "Good times at Wembley Stadium. Congrats to all Mancunians today. Fun in the sun."

Ex Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash, who supports Stoke City, was understandably less chuffed. He wrote on Twitter.com/slash: "Man City won I'm told. That's a drag."
