Liam Gallagher has claimed his brother Noel Gallagher's debut solo album is "boring" because it has "no balls".

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph, the Beady Eye singer admitted that he was pleased the public reaction to 'Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds' had been positive, but said he found it dull because it had "no attitude".

Gallagher – who reportedly recently blew £3,000 in a children's toy shop on remote control cars and games consoles for himself – said: "It's [the album] alright. I'm glad that people like it, man. He's got good songs."

He then went on to add:

No balls, though. No attitude. Everyone knows what Noel Gallagher can do, and it's great, but it's boring. I've heard it all before.

The singer also insisted that he wasn't bothered that his brother's album entered the UK album chart at Number One (October 23), while Beady Eye's LP 'Different Gear, Still Speeding' had only been able to claim the Number Three spot upon its first week of release (March 6).

"Being Number One is not all it's cracked up to be," he said. "'The Birdy Song' was Number One. I'd much rather be Number Three. You've got somewhere to go then."

Liam Gallagher was criticised by mental health charity Mind last weekend (November 12) after he described '80s pop star Adam Ant, who suffers from bipolar disorder, as "nutty".

A row had broken out between the two men after Ant demanded that he and Gallagher sorted out a dispute over a track "man to man". Ant wanted to feature the song in question, which was penned by Beady Eye's Andy Bell, on his recent solo album but claimed that the singer would not let him.

However, earlier this week (November 14), Bell insisted that the dispute had "nothing to do" with Gallagher and he was sorry he had been "dragged" into it.
